Lumia 710 busting through Rogers’ door in February for $149 or $99, you call it

Posted on 26 January 2012 by Zachary Lutz

Rogers subscribers are about to get their very first second taste of Windows Phone, and as you know, it's coming in the form of the Lumia 710. Said to debut during the first week of February, a leaked internal memo has outed the structured price tiers for the lovable runt of Nokia's litter. It can be purchased outright for $254, while those who saddle up for a one, two or three-year commitment can snatch the handset for $149, $99 or $49, respectively. Feel free to run those numbers through your depreciation and amortization schedules, and let us know what you decide.

LG Spectrum eyes January 19th release date, dual-core 1.5GHz CPU and 4.5-inch HD display

Posted on 05 January 2012 by Zachary Lutz

You've likely seen the press photos for the LG Spectrum, but for those of you who've wondered what internals will power Big Red's latest slab, worry no more. This replacement for the Revolution will feature a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S3 SoC, along with a 4.5-inch, 1280 x 720 IPS display and an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash. The rear shooter is capable of recording video at 1080p, and there's also a 1.3 megapixel webcam up front. As you might've guessed, Ice Cream Sandwich will be nowhere in sight, but it'll feature Android 2.3 all the way. Rounding out the specs, users can expect 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a 16GB microSD card. Like the Revolution, the Spectrum supports LTE on Verizon, although its 1830mAh battery is a significant upgrade over the 1500mAh forebear. According to internal documents, we can expect a January 19th arrival. No word on pricing yet, but if you're interested to see the complete spec sheet on this bad boy, which is nearly a dead ringer for the Nitro HD, make sure to hit up the source link below.

Bell Mobility hints at Ice Cream Sandwich release dates for Galaxy S II, Raider and Sensation

Posted on 17 December 2011 by Zachary Lutz

We've come across an internal document from Bell Mobility that's bound to raise the hopes of a few good Canadians. Yes folks, we're talking Ice Cream Sandwich. The carrier to the north estimates that it'll have Android 4.0 ready for the Sensation in February, which is to be followed by the Raider's update in March -- this handset may be more familiar to AT&T customers as the Vivid. Pulling up the rear, users of the Galaxy S II are to expect the upgrade in April, and while the Optimus LTE is also mentioned, there's no specific time frame for that one. Certainly estimated release dates don't always come to fruition, but at least we know what Bell's aiming for, anyway.

Samsung Instinct S50 now reportedly the Instinct HD, ‘HD’ officially the new black

Posted on 13 August 2009 by Engadget.com

It’s already gone through more than its share of name changes, but it looks like Sprint’s upcoming Samsung m850 Dash, most recently known as the Instinct S50, has now apparently found one that’s stuck: the Instinct HD. No word if that means it’ll actually handle HD video in one way or another, of course, nor is there any word on anything like a price or release date — although with the FCC business out of the way, it seems like this one could be getting fully official sooner rather than later.

Sprint HTC Touch Pro2 shows up sporting a 3.5mm headphone jack

Posted on 09 August 2009 by admin

We already knew the CDMA HTC Touch Pro2 headed to Telus and Verizon had been upgraded with a 3.5mm headphone jack, so it’s not a huge surprise that the Sprint version has one too, but it’s still nice to see proof. Still no word on a release date or pricing, but if these things are sneaking out there like this we can’t imagine we have long to wait.

[Thanks, Kenny]
